The edition number and dot answer each other in a light, offbeat rhythm.
Graphic design for successive editions of the Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa festival, organised by the Sztuka Teatr Association. The graphic motif is adapted to posters, accompanying print, multimedia, websites and stage design.
The archival 2012 composition combines a tilted edition number 14, the LOTOS jazz festival heading and three rows of the festival name. Its worn letterpress texture is part of the letter shapes.
Four contemporary motion interpretations develop this language. Swing gives the number and dot a rhythm, Syncopation distributes warm light between the rows, and Haze sends gentle wisps behind the still impression. Jam session leads a dynamic dialogue between the three rows, number and dot, with outline echoes of the printed impression. Their positions change while the original letter contours remain intact.
